UPDATE -- 7:30 p.m.
A 92-year-old New Oxford man died as a result of injuries sustained when his golf cart was struck by a car while crossing Carlisle Pike Saturday afternoon, according to the county coroner's office.
Melvin Bartels was pronounced dead at the emergency room in York Hospital later Saturday evening, according to York County Deputy Coroner Claude Stabley.
The cause of death was multiple blunt-force trauma, Stabley said.
The coroner's office listed Bartels' address as Peace Circle, New Oxford, which, according to online maps, would suggest he is a resident of Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community.
A call to Cross Keys Village seeking more information about the incident was forwarded to an on-call administrator, who did not immediately respond to the message.

An elderly man with serious injuries was taken to the hospital after police said his golf cart was struck by a car as he tried to cross a busy Carlisle Pike in Oxford Township Saturday afternoon.
The man, whose name was not released at the scene, was struck in his golf cart at the intersection of Route 94 and Brickyard Road just after 2 p.m., according to Eastern Adams Regional Police. He was taken to York Hospital, police said.
Both the female driver and male passenger in the black Ford sedan that hit the golf cart were transported to York Hospital, police said. Their names were not released, but police said they are a husband and wife from the Mount Wolf area.
Route 94 was closed for nearly an hour just south of Cross Keys as police and fire crews worked Saturday afternoon.
Cara Miller, an employee at Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community, said she and friend Marie Mott were northbound on Route 94 on their way to work when they saw the accident. The Ford was southbound, they said, and the man in the golf cart pulled right out into the roadway.
The golf cart driver was thrown from his vehicle, Miller said, and the cart rolled at least 20 feet up the roadway before coming to rest. The Focus was heavily damaged on the front driver's side.
Police said multiple witnesses confirmed the man in the cart appeared to pull onto the roadway without looking.
